Gov. Sim Fubara Makes a Fresh Move to Defect from APC to ADC Amidst Rivers Political Crisis.

SKJ1 min read

Amid the escalating political crisis in Rivers State, Governor Sim Fubara is reportedly making fresh moves to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Action Democratic Congress (ADC).

This development comes as tensions rise following the proclamation of the Rainbow Coalition of the Renewed Hope structure by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike. Indications suggest that Governor Fubara is exploring alternative political options after the APC National Committee allegedly declined to hand over control of the Rivers State APC structure to him upon his planned defection.

Reports indicate that Governor Fubara had earlier requested the APC National Chairman to dissolve the existing APC executive leadership in Rivers State to enable him gain full control of the party structure. However, the request was reportedly rejected, with the National Chairman advising him to work with the current party leadership instead.

Subsequently, the governor was said to have taken the same request to the APC Governors’ Forum, though this move has so far produced no positive outcome.

Further reports reveal that Governor Fubara is now in discussions with the Rivers State leader of the ADC, a former Minister of Transportation, as part of efforts to secure the party’s governorship ticket ahead of the next election.
