There was an uneasy truce on Ugwuogo Nike-Nsukka Express, Enugu State on Sunday.
An unspecified number of road users, including the University of Nigeria students,(UNN, who returned to school after eight months of University Academic Staff , ASUU, strike.
A few passengers we’re lucky to escape and it was alleged that the kidnappers attacked at least six commercial buses, littering them with bullets and diverting their occupants to nearby bush.

Amidst all of these, the Enugu State Police Command spokesman Daniel Ndukwe gave no response to the questions about the incident.

“My friend was almost kidnapped too but he managed to escape. ” The street in which this incident occurred has become a flashpoint for kidnappings and all manner of criminality.
In September 2022, kidnappers blocked the road around the Ekwegbe axis and abducted an unspecified number of road users with police claiming that two victims were later rescued.
