Nollywood actress and host Toke Makinwa has denied dragging Abuja-based business tycoon Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar to court over unfulfilled promises. Her rebuttal followed a letter from Femi Falana SAN, the businessman’s lawyer, demanding the retraction of the charges.
Abubakar has warned Toke that failing to retract and apologise, she will face lawsuits amounting to N50 billion for defamation.
The publication alleged that Toke Makinwa was in a relationship with Abubakar and that she sued him for unfulfilled promises. However, in a response letter from his lawyer, Makinwa described the online publication as the work of a mischief makers who wanted to exploit her personality to attract traffic to their online sites.
Toke Makinwa in her denial claimed to have never met with Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar. The letter, signed by Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika SAN, urges businessmen to take action against the malicious online platform which claims its clients have no business with the interview.
