The Nigerian leader highlighted the mutual benefits of enhancing bilateral relations in key sectors such as agriculture, aviation, and trade. He stressed Nigeria’s readiness to remove any barriers to business, noting his administration’s efforts in economic reforms and anti-corruption measures. Tinubu expressed optimism about leveraging Nigeria’s vast economic potential, driven by a young and dynamic population, to foster growth and strengthen partnerships with Brazil.

Ambassador Areias, on his part, conveyed President Lula’s eagerness to welcome Tinubu to the upcoming G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro and reiterated Brazil’s commitment to revitalizing its trade relations with Nigeria. He mentioned the significant decline in trade volume between the two nations—from over $10 billion to $1.6 billion—stating Brazil’s intention to reverse this trend by exploring opportunities in aviation, agriculture, and other sectors.
