Shane Harris is the President and Chairman of ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. and the lead country manager for ExxonMobil subsidiaries in Malaysia.
Joining ExxonMobil in 1998, Shane has held various leadership, engineering, and business roles across multiple disciplines, including Production, Drilling, Mining, and Subsurface, in locations such as Australia, Malaysia, the USA, Canada, and Russia.
Shane began his career at Esso Australia, where he undertook several engineering and planning roles, including a position as a reservoir engineer in Malaysia for ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. In 2005, he moved to Houston to work in the ExxonMobil Drilling organization, taking on leadership roles for projects in the Colorado Rockies, Sakhalin Island, the Black Sea in Russia, and the Beaufort Sea in Canada.
In 2011, Shane became the Drilling Manager for Imperial Oil in Calgary, Canada, and in 2013, he transitioned to Moscow as the Operations Integrity & Logistics Manager for exploration drilling activities in the Kara Sea. By February 2015, he returned to Houston as the global Drilling Technical Manager, later serving as the Upstream Synergies Lead. In November 2016, he returned to Calgary as the Production/Asset Manager, overseeing the Kearl oil sands mining operation in Alberta.
Shane holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Newcastle, Australia. He resides in Canada with his wife, Sara, and their three sons.
