Enugu State, Nigeria – Over the weekend, Prof. Nick Ezeh, Ugoeze Enugu State among top members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State gathered to honour the late Senator Ayogu Eze, who passed on recently at the age of 65. The burial ceremony took place at Ayogu Eze’s Umuida country home in Igboeze North Local Government Area.

Prof. Nick C. Ezeh, the APC Senatorial Candidate for Enugu West in the last general election described Senator Ayogu Eze’s death as a significant loss not only to the APC family but to Nigeria as a whole. “His contributions to our party and the nation were immense. We pray for God’s strength for his family during this difficult time,” Prof. Nick stated.

Senator Eze’s political career was marked by his representation of Enugu North Senatorial District from 2007 to 2015. He was also the APC governorship candidate in Enugu State during the 2019 elections and was serving as a member of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission until his passing.
The funeral service, held at the Senator’s hometown, was presided over by Bishop Igwebuike Onah of the Nsukka Diocese. In his homily, Very Rev. George Abah, National Coordinator of Catholic Choirs in Nigeria, reflected on the transience of life, emphasizing that death is not the end for those who believe in Christ.
