The new Director-General of Obi-Datti’s Presidential Campaign Council, Akin Osuntokun, has dismissed speculation that it may have influenced his new appointment.
Former aide to President Olusegun Obasanjo was introduced as the new helmsman of Ob’s Abuja campaign on Tuesday.
He replaced former CEO Doyin Okupe, who announced his resignation in a letter last Tuesday following a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja that convicted him of violating the Money Laundering Act.
Rising from a strategic party meeting attended by Obi, members of the National Working Committee and other party candidates, Tuesday, the LP’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, announced the appointment of Osuntokun.

Abure described him as a “worthy and trustworthy” replacement for Okupe.
