The Former Governor of Abia State, and Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu has extolled the virtues of President of the Senate Dr Ahmad Lawan as a trail blazer who has set standard that will continue to be the basis of measuring performance of leadership in the Upper Legislative Chamber.
Senator Kalu made this remarks at a luncheon put together to celebrate the 63rd birthday of Senator Lawan held at his house, which was felicitated by his wife.
Kalu said he and his wife Ify thanked the Senate President for accepting to be hosted by the family, while also appreciating President Muhammadu Buhari ably represented by his Chief of staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
President Muhammadu Buhari speaking through his representative at the brief event lauded the cordiality and good working relations between the Executive and the Legislature, especially the way and manner Senator Lawan had been conducting the affairs of the National Assembly, which has created harmonious working relations.
The celebrant, in his reaction thanked the Kalu’s family, describing his relationship with Senator Kalu as dated back to their days as undergraduates at University of Maiduguri.
