A man, identified as Idowu Shaba, reportedly escaped from the den of his abductors while the kidnappers were asleep in the forest.
The victim, who is a cocoa dealer and an unknown woman is said to have been kidnapped on her way to Ido Ani in the state’s local government area on Saturday, for a church program, when the thug walked down the street and dragged them into the bushes.
A source recounted that, after the kidnapping, the kidnappers had demanded N10 million in ransom from the victim’s family before they fled.
Newsglobal gathered from a source that, Shaba pretended to be sleeping soundly, snoring at night. He said, “After the kidnappers saw that the victims had fallen asleep, they too fell asleep. Shaba took the opportunity to carry their weapons and used their sharp cutplasses to kill two of them and injure another who escaped. “He took his AK-47 Cutplasses and and just you me I l itotherdangerous weapon in their possession and he used the opportunity to save another woman and both fled.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident but said the victim fled but did not kill the captors. “The victim didn’t tell the police that he killed the kidnappers. He just said he ran away when the kidnappers had fallen asleep,” PPRO explained
