In a decisive move against insurgency, Nigerian military forces have executed a significant operation within the Sambisa Forest, a notorious stronghold for Boko Haram and ISWAP militants. This offensive led to the elimination of several terrorists and the dismantling of bomb-making facilities.
The operation, part of the ongoing efforts to eradicate terrorism in the region, targeted key terrorist enclaves, resulting in the destruction of their infrastructure and the recovery of materials used in the fabrication of improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Among the neutralized insurgents was a high-ranking bomb-making expert, whose elimination is expected to disrupt the group’s operational capabilities.
In addition to neutralizing threats, the troops successfully rescued numerous civilians, including women and children, who had been held captive by the insurgents.
