The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justices , Abubakar Malami, is yet to resign as withdrew his ambition to take part in the 2023 Kebbi State Gubernatorial Election.
Malami has the right to voluntarily put aside his governor’s ambitions as it is matter of personal belief and individual rights that do not violate any laws.
Right-thinking members of society respect the individual’s right to freedom of choice in matters relating to this. As individual Nigerian citizens with basic inalienable rights, we are not aware of any legally justifiable and reasonable obligations that compel Abubakar Malami, SAN or as the Attorney General of the Federation to do otherwise.
This decision is not only a demonstration of altruism and patriotism, but also of complacency, self-control, composure and decisiveness in solving problems at a time shrouded in confusing and competing stimulus.
This is a commendable act worthy of admiration that stems from an example of virtue.
