One of Nollywood’s oldest actors, Mr. Oniah, has revealed how he was paid the sum of Five Thousand Naira (5,000 Naira) in his last four-day theatrical work.
Mr Oniah has appeared in many Nollywood films as well as in music videos as well.
The actor made this known during a visit by popular comic actor, Muonago Collins, also known as NcheNollywood at his residence.
According to Nche, the actor, who still appears in the film industry but is not as usual, revealed that producers did not treat him properly, stating that he was paid little money for the role played that lasted for four days.
The elderly actor revealed that the future of the film industry is at stake because things are no longer moving as they should.
Collins also urged the public to support the man through prayer so he can be lifted from the situation.
Sharing pictures of the lovely visitation, Nche wrote;
“Meet the oldest man in Nollywood, how many still remember this uncle?… His name is Uncle Oniah.
We are not sending money but prayers and good wishes. He is still acting but some of our producers are not trying.
Uncle said that In his last job he was paid 5k for 4 days and that wasn’t encouraging, he also said that the way movie is going now he wonder the hope of our upcoming actors, ‘think about it.”
