The Governor of Anambra State, Soludo Chukwuma visited the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who has been in detention for a while.
Governor Soludo also shared on his Facebook page a few pictures which he took with Mazi Nnamdi and also spoke on how sad the IPOB leader was to some of the killings and brutality from some Ipob associates and promised he preach peace as soon as he got the opportunity
He posted “I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, (Friday, 13th May, 2022) to felicitate with him and also as part of the wider consultations with critical stakeholders in search of lasting peace and security in the South East.
He was in very high spirits and we had a frank and insightful discussion in a very convivial atmosphere. He expressed sadness over what he described as “sacrilegious killings” of innocent persons, kidnappings and all forms of criminalities, including the brutal enforcement of the senseless “sit at home” order, perpetuated by sundry groups claiming to be acting for or on behalf of IPOB.
He assured me that if the opportunity arises, he will be glad to personally broadcast to his followers to maintain peace at all times.
Together, we shall restore peace, security and prosperity in Anambra and the Southeast.

Soludo on resuming the position of Anambra State Governor Elect in March 2022 made efforts to ensure that activities went on smoothly on Mondays in the state and also called on the federal government to hasten the trial of Nnamdi Kanu so that he may be convicted or freed instead of being kept in indefinite detention
