Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe, widely recognized as Wande Coal, asserts that he was the originator of the new sound in Nigerian music.
He also asserted that he influenced the current generation of Afrobeats artists who are now gaining global recognition.
In a recent interview with Cool FM Lagos, Wande Coal, known for his hit ‘Bumper 2 Bumper,’ expressed his desire to achieve even more despite his past successes.
Wande Coal proudly stated:
“I’m the best at what I do. I’m a legend. I know what I came to this industry to do. I brought the new generation of sound and the new wave of new artists that’s happening now.
I’m happy to be that guy that has done it. Also, I still want to do more. I feel like music never ends. Music is very universal. That’s why there are many genres of music.”
“All these sounds I try to fuse into my music. That’s why none of my songs sound alike. Since I entered the industry, I’ve demonstrated versatility in my songs. I also enjoy working with new producers because music never ends.”
Wande Coal first broke into the Nigerian entertainment industry as a dancer.
