Hon. Engr. Anayo B. Onwuegbu, FNSE, Member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji-River Federal Constituency, has commended the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in strong terms for assenting to the South-East Development Commission (SEDC) Establishment Bill.
Hon. Onwuegbu said, President Tinubu signing the bill into law demonstrates a commendable commitment to the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and rebuilding of the South East region, which has long awaited this historic intervention”.

He further stated that the establishment of the SEDC will mark a significant milestone in addressing the infrastructure and development challenges faced by the South East, emphasizing that the Commission will foster economic growth and stability, providing a much-needed boost to the South East development.
He opined that the decision is not only a proof to President Tinubu’s dedication to national unity and development but also a source of hope for many who have yearned for positive change in the South East.
Hon. Onwuegbu also extended heartfelt appreciation to Speaker Tajudeen Abbas PhD, Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, and the entire leadership of the 10th Assembly, whose strong support and effective collaboration were instrumental in steering the bill through the legislative process.
This development he said, underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to equitable growth and the empowerment of all regions. The SEDC is expected to address critical infrastructure needs, promote industrialization, and enhance the quality of life for residents of the South East.
