Gov. Hope Uzodimma releases  a dove for the peace initiative in the Southeast of Nigeria at the Thanksgiving/Homecoming of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie held in Bende LGA, Abia State.

In a genuine display of commitment to regional peace and development, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State took center stage at the civic reception of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Rep. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, held in Bende LGA of Abia State.

Governor Uzodimma, recognized as a peace-loving leader in the Southeast, used the occasion to align efforts with the peace mission of the South East Governors’ Forum. The governor hailed the unveiling of the Peace in South East Project (PISE-P), an initiative spearheaded by Deputy Speaker Kalu, aimed at fostering lasting peace across the region.

The governor, expressed gratitude to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima for his firm support in addressing the security challenges faced by the Southeast. Uzodimma commended Tinubu’s steadfast commitment, acknowledging that it empowers the region to overcome adversities orchestrated by those hindering progress.

Furthermore, Governor Uzodimma lauded the collaborative efforts of the South East Governors and Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Worldwide in organizing the South East Economic and Security Summit.

The summit, which laid the foundation for progress in the region, received praise from the governor, who highlighted its alignment with the Deputy Speaker’s PISE-P initiative.

The governor expressed his pleasure at the seamless integration of the PISE-P initiative with the vision of the summit. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and unity in tackling the challenges faced by the region, particularly in the areas of economic development and security.
