Former Premier League star Dean Ashton criticised Arsenal’s performance at Crystal Palace despite their 2-0 win.
Arsenal had a dazzling start to the campaign this season, with a win over a Crystal Palace side managed by Gunners legend Patrick Vieira.
Gabriel Martinelli put the visitors ahead in the 20th minute, but Palace increased the pressure over the next 65 minutes and squandered two glorious chances.
In the end, Mikel Arteta’s side added another when Marc Guehi turned a Bukayo Saka cross into his own goal in the 85th minute.
“There were long periods in that game where it seemed like [Arsenal] were just surviving, rather than being in control of the game and dominating away from home,” Ashton told talkSPORT.
“It looked like they survived and maybe they got away with it with a result.”
