The Department of State Services has deauthorized a security alert that is currently causing a stir online.
DSS spokesman Dr Peter Afunanya drew attention to the fake security notice last night.
The fake alert apparently made a fake of an innocuous internal notice issued by a regional organization for the care of its workers, but used the DSS logo as the agency that gave the alarm.
In reaction, Afunanya denied that the security agency issued any notice to Nigerians.
“This is false,” he said, drawing attention to the work of the wrongdoers.
