The suspended commander of the Police Intelligence Response Squad, Abba Kyari, and other suspects underwent marathon questioning on suspicion of drug smuggling.
National Drug Enforcement Agency officials said that “progress is being made” in the interrogation of the suspended Deputy Police Commissioner and other suspects.

It was said the senior policeman was caught on camera handing over $61,400 in cash to compromise his operation. The suspended policeman was invited for questioning on February 10 but did not show up or respond, according to the NDLEA.
The NDLEA later confirmed that Kyari and four others were handed over to the agency over their involvement in the 25-kilogram cocaine deal.
Kyari, who became famous for exposing a string of high-profile crimes in Nigeria, denied the allegations against him.
