The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reserved judgment on an appeal filed by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, seeking to quash the charges of terrorism and treason preferred against him by the Federal Government.
The IPOB leader, who is currently facing trial before the Federal High Court in Abuja, went to the court of appeal to question the legality of the charge against him.
He is praying the court to review the April 8 ruling of the trial court which struck out only eight out of the 15-count charge.
Insisting that the charge against him has no basis, he is also asking the appeals court to order his release on bail, pending the decision of his appeal.
Although the appeal was scheduled for October 11, following an application by the dissident IPOB leader for adjournment, the appeal court brought the matter up for hearing.
