Buhari arrives in Owerri for a working visit to IMO State

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived on Tuesday in Imo state where he is on a one-day working visit to commission projects that have been completed by the administration led by Governor Hope Uzodimma.

The roads that will come into use are the first phase of the Orlu-Okigwe road with a length of 56 kilometers and the Orlu-Owerri road.

When he arrived, governor Uzodinma and other stakeholders received the president on the tarmac.

Recall that Buhari paid an official visit to the state on Thursday, September 9, 2021, where he launched projects and held talks with Igbo leaders.

His second visit, next week, is expected to focus on “many things but mainly to initiate the projects completed by the 3R Government.”

This was stated in a statement by Dr Paul Ihunanya, titled ‘As Buhari visits Imo again’ released on Saturday.

The statement also reads that the President “will be inaugurating the Owerri-Orlu road, the Federal Road built by the 3R Government and the recently built and prepared Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA).

It read, “In the last month, the Honorable Senator Hope Uzodimma had hinted at the working visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Imo State for additional matters but largely the initiation of projects completed by the 3R Government.

“This is the second visit by Mr. President within a period of about one year. In the last visit, Governor Hope Uzodimma gathered Igbo leaders to receive Mr. President and use the opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the Igbo and the Federation, aiming to include the Igbo in the administration and development of the nation.

“The second visit of Mr. President to Imo, within one year, is a clear sign of the unprecedented development drive of the 3R Government. The main thing in the President’s schedule during the visit is the establishment of the Owerri-Orlu road, The Federal Road built by the 3R Government and the new Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA) Factory built and recently commissioned.

“It will be a period of calling, on the Government’s 3R projects and showing to the world, on the success of the administration of the Common Success of His Excellency, the Honorable Senator Hope Uzodimma.”
