Fulani youths drawn from 36 states of the Federation and Abuja, under the umbrella, Endan Fulaku, have declared unflinching support for Peter Obi presidency come 2023.
Members of Endan Fulaku
Some of the members and executives of Endan Fulaku who converged in Abuja, Tuesday, were received by the members of the Igbo Elders Consultative Forum at Floris Gardens Wuse 3, Abuja.
Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, the leader of the group in his speech affirmed their resolute endorsement of Obi/Datti candidature for presidency come 2023 and promised that Fulani pastoralists across Nigeria will support and vote for Peter Obi in the forth-coming presidential election, he said, “one of my promises to the Igbo Elders Consultative Forum Chairman, former governor of Anambra State, Chief Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife and the entire Igbo leadership was that I will do whatever it takes within my power to pursue and expand this dialogue until we reach the promise land”.
Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi
Dr. Ibrahim who commended the efforts of the members of Igbo Elders Consultative Forum in working assiduously to see that Peter Obi and Datti Ahmed emerge as Nigeria’s next president and vice president disclosed his conviction that the project will succeed, according to him, “when I met Elder Onyema Ugwunze, Prof. Charles Nwekeaku and other Igbo leaders, I saw in them, leaders with genuine commitment to the cause, and that really increased my confidence that we shall succeed on this project”.
Expressing happiness over the cordial relationship between the Igbos in the South East and Fulanis, Ibrahim said, “Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, these are some of the achievements so far recorded by this initiative:
Extraction of commitment from the Fulani leadership of the South East
to work assiduously to address all the concerns of the Igbo communities
and you all will agree with me that the situation has improved in the
South East.
- One of the Igbo leaders has offered his personal plots of land for the
pastoralists to settle free of charge. - Even in the states where the entire pastoralists’ population migrated,
they are now beginning to return without any molestation. - Some of the governors of the South East have formed peace
committees with the membership of both Igbo and Fulani leaders. - As a mark of goodwill and reciprocity, the Fulani youths have formed
two different support groups for Obi and Datti. The two groups have
decided to appoint me as their chairman BOT and I have accepted the
challenge”.
Emphasizing on how Igbos and Fulanis hold the major economy of the nation, Dr. Ibrahim opined, “, we have also discovered that the coming together of these two very important ethnic nationalities (Igbo and Fulani) is critical to the unity and political stability of Nigeria. This is because while the former controls over 80% of the trade, commerce and industries of the country, the later controls 80 — 90% of the livestock industry and by implication the protein needs of the entire Nation”

He used the occasion to call on the entire North to support Obi’s presidential aspiration not only because Obi is the best presidential material, but because it is key to the unity, stability and prosperity of Nigeria.
Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, the Chairman of the Igbo Elders Consultative Forum told the gathering that Peter Obi is a true unifier, who will banish poverty, insecurity, and all the negatives associated with Nigeria, “If Peter Obi becomes president, in the next two years, our sons and daughters abroad will begin to think of coming back home. God has his hand in Obi’s movement. I know him (Peter Obi) very well. Many years after I left as a governor, I saw him at the airport carrying his own luggage. He has always insisted that the public’s funds must be used for the public good.” He said.
