Ahead of the February 26, 2022 National Convention, the interim committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has appointed state executives from the party to 33 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Enugu, Kano and Sokoto stated, however, that their party chiefman were not sworn in at an event that took place in Abuja on Thursday.
The decision not to formalize excos for the three states may not be related to the crisis roiling the party in the affected states.
The crisis in Enugu allegedly led to the deaths of two party supporters who were recently killed during a party environmental meeting.
Speaking on the development, a supporter of the party in Enugu and Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Chief Osita Okechukwu wrote:
My Dear Fellow APC Compatriots! We are ONE APC! Let’s not abuse nor celebrate please. Rather let’s think deep how to UNITE & MOBILISE for Loin Building! Osita”
