As reported by CNN, Combs was arrested on Monday, September 17, 2024, at the Park Hyatt Hotel on 57th Street in Manhattan. Homeland Security Investigations took him into custody around 8:15 p.m.
Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, confirmed the arrest in a Monday night statement.
“Earlier this evening, federal agents apprehended Sean Combs, following a sealed indictment issued by the SDNY,” the prosecutor stated.
“Although the indictment against the singer remains under seal, attorney Marc Agnifilo suggests that the charges may include racketeering and sex trafficking. This development follows recent raids on the singer’s Los Angeles and Miami properties in March, part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation. Additionally, the singer faces multiple allegations of sexual assault, including a May 2024 lawsuit filed by fashion student April Lampros. Lampros alleges that the singer initially wooed her with gifts and flowers before their 1995 meeting at a SoHo bar, then allegedly plied her with alcohol and assaulted her at the Millennium Hotel, leaving her disoriented and unable to consent.”
