Evelyn Foulkner, a 72-year-old African American grandmother from Atlanta, made a remarkable debut in bodybuilding by winning two medals and impressing everyone with her performance.
“I decided I needed to take it to another level and challenge myself,” Foulkner told Fox 5 Atlanta .
Evelyn, who had been a gym regular for years, began training for the competition six months prior. She concentrated on building up her weaker muscles and adhered to a high-protein diet, allowing herself a few cheat meals along the way.
She recently participated in the bikini division at the Super Natural Body Federation Bodybuilding and Fitness Competition in Lawrenceville. Her hard work was rewarded with third place finishes in both the beginner and masters categories.
Her relatives encouraged her and noted that she was a fan favorite. After the ceremony, many people lined up to take photos with her, expressing how much she had inspired them.
