Lagos, June 11, 2025 — Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, reportedly brought operations at the Zulu Terminal of Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) to a halt after arriving too late for his scheduled flight to Abuja.

According to eyewitness accounts shared with Sahara Reporters, the senator arrived well past the 6:30 a.m. departure time and proceeded to block the terminal entrance. Despite pleas from the terminal manager, Oshiomhole allegedly remained immovable, causing significant disruption and leaving scores of passengers stranded .

Airport staff described the situation as chaotic. A regional manager was brought in to defuse the tension, and a meeting was swiftly convened with airport leadership seeking to persuade him to allow flights to resume .

Air Peace, the airline on which he was booked, refused to delay the flight, citing compliance with its check-in policy .

The Zulu Terminal, part of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), serves key domestic routes, including Abuja. The disruption reportedly affected normal operations until authorities were able to restore access .

Attempts to reach a statement from Air Peace and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria’s regional management were unsuccessful. No official comment had been released at the time of publication.
