Enugu, Nigeria – In an important gathering of former legislators from the Enugu State House of Assembly, including ex-Speakers, Principal Officers, and more, a unanimous resolution was reached to commend and congratulate His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah.
The accolades extended to Governor Mbah were for his resounding victory in the polls on March 18, 2023, and for his successful defense at the Enugu State Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal on September 21, 2023.

During the plenary session, the members embarked on a comprehensive review of Governor Mbah’s governance model in Enugu State. Their assessment revealed a leader with a profound vision, marked by thoughtfulness, reflection, and imagination. The former legislators collectively affirmed that the policies and programmes initiated by the Enugu State government under Governor Mbah’s administration were nothing short of groundbreaking, innovative, and captivating.
However, a cause for concern emerged as members acknowledged that neighboring states, Ebonyi and Anambra, had advanced further in terms of road infrastructure development. Enugu State had seemingly lagged behind in this vital aspect. To address this disparity, Governor Mbah recently launched a bold initiative – the Enugu State road construction and rehabilitation revolution, a first of its kind in the state. Hopes were high that this endeavour would bring much-needed relief to the people of Enugu State before the end of the year, 2023.
Furthermore, Governor Mbah’s vision encompassed leveraging the considerable level interjurisdictional externalities due to the nearness of Awka Capital Territory in Anambra State to Ugwuoba, a bordering community in Enugu State.
Regrettably, past administrations in Enugu State had failed to tap into this promising opportunity, which was seen as a low-hanging fruit for the taking.
Members of the former assembly expressed their enthusiasm for Governor Peter Mbah’s leadership, asserting that he deserved the resolute support of the people of Enugu State to realize the full potential of his ambitious agenda.
Rt. Hon. Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, PhD, the Chairman of the Former Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, affixed his electronic signature to the declaration of the commendation, solidifying the assembly’s endorsement of Governor Mbah’s visionary leadership.
