The Rivers State Government claimed plans were made to blackmail the State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for agitation by the G-5 governor of the Democratic People’s Party, PDP.
The State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Chris Finebone, revealed this at a press conference in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
In a statement by the Special Assistant Wike in Media, Kelvin Ebiri, Finebone said the “faceless group” was behind the slanderous campaign against the governor.

Finebone said the faceless group harmed Wike led the G-5 governor to demand “justice, equity and justice” in the PDP.
He said: “ This is proof of the plans to blackmail Governor Wike. This is the document and is titled: ‘Proposal with hashtags, to end the Wike rascality program’.
“ We encourage them to take off their masks and show themselves as the governments is responsible to answering them adequately.
“They can’t even sign it (document) to encourage this. It is important for us to warn them.
It is also important for us to warn Nigerians about this scheme. We expect more from them to come.
But I can assure you that the governor and G-5 will take the opportunity because they continue to start this kind of slander campaign. ”
The G-5 group consisting of Governors Benue, Oyo, Enugu, Abia, and Wike has fought for equity in the rotation of party leadership. They demanded that Iyorchia Ayu resign as Party General Chair.
The group led by Wike noted that North Korea should not be allowed to present party flag bearers and National Chairmen. They suggested that the position of National Chair be placed in the south of the country.
