Soludo promised a rapid dispensation of justice in Anambra

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State, on Sunday, promised  that his government would ensure a rapid dispensation of justice in the state.

 

Soludo made an appointment while talking to inmates at the Intermediate Security Detention Center in Aguata.

He denounced the fact that some inmates had spent years in the correctional center without trial, promising that his government would investigate their case.

“This government will examine prisoners’ cases to ensure a rapid dispensation of justice. “After finding some challenges during the inspection of facilities at this correctional facility, I promise that this administration will provide recreational facilities and renovate these buildings in the next few weeks.

I am very confident and hopeful with a conducive environment like this, the prisoners here will return to a society that has changed personally so that it can contribute to the growth and development of Anambra, “he said.

 

When receiving the governor, Mr. Pat Chukwuemeka, Correctional Supervisor, Nigeria Penitentiary Service, Anambra State Command, outlined several activities that would help improve the lives of prisoners.

Speaking on behalf of the inmates,Mr Edwin Douglas thanked the governor for his visit, saying that the governor’s visit revived their hopes and ownership. The governor gave some relief to the inmates as he promised to visit other Penitentiary Centers in the state within the next week.
