The last time Obinna Iyiegbu, a socialite and businessman known as Obi Cubana, and Abba Kyari, former head of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IGP), were seen together in public was in Oba, Anambra State.
Obi Cubana had organized a talk of the town funeral for his mother in July 2021 and one of his guests was Super Cop Kyari.
Meanwhile Kyari, a Deputy Police Commissioner, was suspended from the police force after an indictment by the FBI, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detained Obi Cubana for days on suspicion of money laundering.
He was subsequently arrested by the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on suspicion of links to drug dealers in Asia.
But at the wedding of Fatiha of Maina Alkali, son of the Inspector General of Police, on Saturday, Obi Cubana and Kyari exchanged banter. Dressed in northern clothing, the socialites mingled with the tall and mighty in society.
